Why Does In-Home Encapsulation Matter?

Having your placenta encapsulated in your own home ensures that no possible outside contamination is possible from another person's home environment. It also guarantees that no mix-ups or cross-contaminations can occur between your placenta and another client's (sadly yes, this can happen when placentas are prepared outside of your own environment).

Also, because our Placenta Specialist are dually trained as Postpartum Doulas, you get the added benefits of spending time with our specialist in your home to discuss new babyhood, postpartum challenges, new babyhood, PE benefits, and detailed instructions on how to use your postpartum supplement.

How it works

When you book with our Placenta Specialist, you'll receive detailed, step-by-step instructions on what to expect. A storage cooler and safe transport kit will be provided for you to bring to the hospital to transport your placenta home. Your specialist will come to your home when notified to prepare your postpartum supplement in the comfort and safety of your own home.

The preparation itself involves steaming and dehydrating your placenta with a lovely aromatic blend of spices and herbs. Your placenta is then ground into a powder and distributed into roughly 75-180 capsules to be consumed throughout your early postpartum period.

Detailed usage guidelines are provided and you have 24/7 access to your specialist if any questions or concerns should arise.

High Country Doulas guarantees that your placenta encapsulation is much more than receiving a box of pills.
We ensure an exceptional experience that contributes to a calmer, happier, and healthier postpartum period for your entire family.

Placenta Services Begin at $315

*Just a friendly reminder that it's a good idea to put your Placenta Transport Kit right beside your hospital bags if you haven't done so yet. The safest place for your placenta is with you on ice or in a refrigerator for the first 72 hours (after 72 hours you can pop it in the freezer and encapsulate later) or until it gets encapsulated. If it can't be encapsulated before 72 hours the safest place is in your freezer.*

This includes:

  • The hospital transport kit and storage instructions

  • Jar of capsules (roughly 75-180 pills total)

  • Detailed usage instruction booklet

  • Ongoing access to your Postpartum Placenta Specialist

  • Two in-home visits with your dually trained Postpartum Placenta Specialist/Postpartum Doula while they prepare your placenta in the comfort of your own home. A great time to chat about baby, breastfeeding, and the encapsulation process!

Additional Services Include:

  • Placenta Tincture $35

  • Placenta Print $40

  • Cord Keepsake - Complimentary

TESTIMONIALS

Placenta_Lenoir_Hickory_NC

"We were really intrigued to see the process of placenta encapsulation and our doula was so knowledgeable and passionate about the work she was doing. I'll admit I was a little nervous about "eating" my placenta at first, but after talking with Lis (our Postpartum Placenta Specialist) and seeing the passion she brought to handling and caring for my placenta, I began to realize the sacredness that is embedded in the work she is doing.
I tend to be an anxious person and have had trouble handling my emotions in the past, but have felt calm and stable during these first two weeks postpartum. I like to think that much of this has to do with the extra support from my placenta pills!"
